Our grade 2/3 class is excited about our new unit on simple machines. We are looking forward to exploring, investigating and even buiding simple machines. Through our experiments we will learn to identify and describe six simple machines. They are levers, wedges, inclined planes, screws, pulleys and wheels and axles. We will also be able to tell how these simple machines make life easier for us.

Barrie Colts Assembly

Our class was excited to see and listen to some of the Barrie Colts. They shared their experiences with the students and answered questions as well. We even got to see Charlie horse their mascot! The Colts have adopted our school and part of the proceeds from the December 17th game will be given to the school. What a great opportunity for the students!

Milk Educator

We had a dairy farmer come and talk to us about dairy farming and the importance of milk. We learned alot.

Math Tips

We are learning all about word problems. We can create a word problem and solve them. When answering we use pictures, math sentences and math words.
Parents don’t forget to have your child coorect and finish the math sent home and then send it back to school.
